After an undergraduate degree in Neuroscience at the University of Bristol, Fran undertook her PhD on the MRC Centre for Neurodevelopmental Disorders (CNDD) program. She worked primarily in the Cooke lab to understand cortical mechanisms of disinhibition underlying long-term habituation, but was also co-supervised by Professor Steve Williams and Professor Juan Burrone at KCL. In collaborative work with the Burrone lab, Fran was able to demonstrate evidence of lost inhibition as a result of saturated habituation. Fran is currently working as a post-doctoral scientist at Imperial College London in the laboratory of Sam Barnes as part of the UK Dementia Research Institute (DRI).
